Project management experience
I am the Graduate Student Project Manager for the Academy of Civic Life, a pre-college program at Stony Brook University that supports high school students from traditionally underserved and disenfranchised populations. The Academy's vision is a local community with equitable access to higher education.
I was a key member of the Planning Team that designed the interdisciplinary program in collaboration with multiple on-campus and off-campus organizations. In this role, I helped to successfully apply for a three-year $299,765 grant from The Teagle Foundation. As Project Manager, I now oversee the implementation of the program's inaugural year, including managing the program budget and supervising the hiring and onboarding of new staff.
Additional professional experiences
I worked as a contractor for the Encyclopedia of Life (EOL) through the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History (2013–2014). As an open access online resource, the EOL works to gather, generate, and share scientific information.
